Are you using ROBOHelp? If so, you can customize the output with
conditional text to deliver multiple versions of output from a single
project. In other words, you can tag content for specific outputs, such as
an old and a new version of a Help system. Sez ROBOHelp, "Tag entire topics
or areas within topics (such as blocks of text and images) to exclude from
the output. Pick and choose the content you want to deliver instead of
maintaining separate topics or projects or creating complex workarounds for
different deliverables. You can also preview conditional build tag
expressions on a topic-by-topic basis to spot-check project content."

Cheers!

There's a new set of dialog boxes in my company's software. They replace an
old set of dialog boxes that did pretty much the same thing -- inventory
management. The new dialog boxes are a bit more usable, and the new code can
be reused in a few other places in the software. So overall, it's an
improvement. Unfortunately for me, each client has a choice -- they can
stick with the old, or upgrade to the new. Multiple help files are not an
option, so I think I have to address this in the content.
