Dan Goldstein is seeking DB recommendations for Proposal precedents.

None of the suggested solutions sound particularly easy to work with.
Dan may wish to look at his needs from a different perspective. I
suggest he look at SmartPrecedent (http://www.speedlegal.com). I have
evaluated it for my company for managing contract precedents, but it
should work as well or better for proposal precedents. Unlike databases,
which tend to be rather dumb, the SmartPrecedent approach adds a lot of
value to the text. It takes a reasonable amount of effort to add logic
as the precedents text is taken up, but this is repaid many times over
in use.

Disclaimer: I am not speaking for my company. I have evaluated the
product and know the developers, but have no financial connections with
the company. To date the potential users have been too busy to think
seriously about new ways of working, but we may still end up
implementing the system ourselves.
