In Word 2000, under the Settings button of
Tools|Options|Spelling and Grammar rhere's an option to
check for 1 or 2 spaces after a period. When you do a full
spelling and grammar run, it will stop on each instance of
whatever you asked it to check for, and let you choose to
keep or change it. (The default is not to check at all.)
I presume this option still exists in XP.
