You could always run RTFM through the Acronym Finder
http://www.acronymfinder.com/af-query.asp?String=exact&Acronym=rtfm .
It returned fifteen different meanings, all saying pretty much the same
thing. The most common meaning comes out as:

Read The Friendly Manual (in a polite form). I like the Unix variant.
