>One of the better write-ups I have seen on lately Indexing is in Sarah
>O'Keefe's 'Technical Writing 101: A Real-World Guide to Planning and Writing
>Technical Documentation, ISBN 0-9704733-0-3". If you can find a copy (it is
>out of print but I got my copy from Amazon's second-hand section) it has a
>pretty good discussion on Indexing (Chapter 10).
I no longer benefit from my association with this book or with Scriptorium (other than Sarah and Co's continuing goodwill), but a second edition has just been released. And to be fair, Alan Pringle (Scriptorium Press's Directing Editor) coauthored the book as well. Take a look at http://www.scriptorium.com/books/techwrite101.html for more information.
