By now, I'm sure that you know the advice - don't do it!

But that can be easier said than done. The whole affair was very important
to you, even if it wasn't to your client.

What I try to do (everywhere except online discussion forums, of course ;) )
is to ask myself what I have to gain by proving that I'm right. What do I hope
will happen? Best case? Worst case? Most likely outcome?

I find that this thought exercise makes it easier to bite the bullet
and do the sensible thing, rather than the (temporarily) satisfying thing.
