Funny story about learning a new language:

I once had a job as an audio-visual technician. I had a small contract to install sound equipment for simultaneous translation. I went to the lady in charge and said : "Hi, I'm your sound technician.". She replied: "What?". I repeated, she repeated. I thought: "Wow, I didn't my accent was so bad!" So I said ver slowly: "I......... am......... the....... sound........ tech......ni.....cian.".

She said: "Sorry, I was expecting a man, it's nice that you have a man's job!"

It seems my English was not the problem, my face was... I must say that before she told me that, I never thought I had a man's job, I considered it a regular job.

Another one: I once told someone to get back at(instead of 'to') me! I am grateful they did not come back to punch me!
