Point size changes only buy you so much wiggle room in
refitting translations back into a page format. You
might save 20% or 40% in space by adjusting point size
and line spacing, but the number of characters grows,
hyphenation rules change, and so on.

Never design a perfect source copy (that is,
everything looks "just so" per page), because if you
do, you'll find yourself squeezing translations back
in, resulting in a look that's "just not so".
