Ahhh. But, your rights end where another person's rights begin. I'm not
American, but I believe the basic principles of how rights are exercised are
similar/identical between Canada and the US.
There's an analogy that applies particularly well to smoking 'rights'.
1- I have the right to make a fist.
2- I have the right to swing that fist around.
3- If that fist lands on another person's nose. I get locked up and all my
rights are removed.
note: And your right to swing your fist around actually end before that.
Disturbing the peace and justifiable provocation come along fairly quickly.
Actually, that's the basis of/reason for a bill of rights in the first place. To
protect individuals from the negative effects of others exercising their rights.
Whether that's defending minorities from the vagarities of the majority or
defending one individual's right to enjoy his home from his neighbour's right to
open a rendering plant.
But I think anything more on this subject belongs off-list....
