Yes, I think you are behaving in a cranky manner (I don't for a minute think that you _are_ a crank). Bulk emailing software that I've looked at is hard to wrestle into submission. It could well be that someone at ehelp inadvertently clicked the wrong checkbox in the mailing software interface. I don't think you are wrong to write to them; but I think I'd have given them the benefit of the doubt in my initial note, to at least give them a chance to explain or apologize.
