TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.

Yes, because nearly everyone can write and nearly everyone can edit. The
fact that very few people do these things well (and only those who do
them well are aware of this fact) and that editing is the far safer
thing to do (ego-wise), means that each time you present your document
to the world, there can be countless worthless editors eager to spew
useless opinions all over it...but I'm not bitter.... ;-)
Seriously, sounds like you have a real interest. If you do, tech writing
can offer diverse and rewarding opportunities. Just don't forget that
all careers can occasionally include an element of drudgery and it's
often an unwillingness to work through the drudgery that stands between
mediocrity and excellence.
Best of luck!
Robert
