Andy, here's my 5 /cts.' worth:
>From personal experience, just keep two versions: US and UK/Continental. The resistance is there to stay - your-turf - my-turf - sort of situation. The ideal is of course the 'common approach' but I think if you want to move ahead, just keep two versions for now. The 'merge' will happen naturally (and many times it does).

Just take a look at some of the 'dual voltage' products. Many have instructions for US/Canada, and then Europe.

"In the US we get 'elevated' from floor to floor and in UK we are just 'lifted', and...we all get there. Simple as that."

"Sean has his 'timetable' and Shawn has his 'schedule' -- they both got there on time."

By the way Andy, just a rhetorical question: Who is your primary target audience?
