I can't see how the size of your backup drive makes much difference, and I'd have to ask "160 what?" to guess whether it might affect Word's performance.
But I didn't say you had a wimpy system; I just said the amount of RAM is a factor in your ability to keep Word rolling with a big file.
I based my statement on personal experience, too:
* With 128 MB RAM, big files opened slowly,
and Word frequently stopped responding.
* With 196 MB RAM, big files still opened slowly,
but Word "froze" less often.
* With 512 MB RAM, big files still open slowly <:(
but Word almost never freezes.

...especially not disk drives, and probably not video cards or processor speed, either.
