However, as John points out, re-writing around the
problem, when you can, is better. Stick to second
person singular, and you should be able to stay out of
the problem.

Problems arise, tho, when you're not writing *to* the
user, but telling someone else *about* the user, or
for example, writing a requirements doc.

(I just get so excited about the "Jane Austen defense"
I forget the rest of the pronblem.)
