CB Casper asks:

<<<Other than checking the financial news reporting websites, is there a
similar, supposedly objective, credit report available to us mere mortal
job seekers...How does one get info on private companies?>>>

You can order a series of reports on a potential employer/client,and pay
by credit card. I've done it in the past, getting basic credit info for
$14.95 (this was a while ago...haven't done it recently...) You can
subscribe to get discounts.

NOTE: some of the info is reported by the companies themselves (credit
information is not, and that's usually my main concern...)
