The lid remains propped partly open, resting on a couple of little rubber
posts that you attach to the printer with Velcro (not shown on the Web page
photo).

The only problem I've had was that when the printhead made many fast back &
forth motions over a small distance (e.g., printing a narrow graphic
column), the hanging section of the ink tubes would build up its own
momentum and snarl under the printhead. I solved that by wedging a folded
business card between the ink tubes and the top of the black cartridge, so
the slack in the tubes doesn't hang down so far. No more problems!

Interesting contraption.

Just one question: How do the ink tubes affect closing the lid? Do the
tubes snag or stretch out of place and get in the way of the lid?
