You might contact Janis Ramey, who heads up the Pittsburgh STC's "WorkQuest"
group. This is a special group that the chapter set up to help those
looking for work. They also received some type of award for WorkQuest, but
I don't remember what...maybe Pacesetter? It is a very active group and the
meetings should be of some help (Janis will be helpful too, I'm sure). I
think the STC WorkQUest will be a good, first step for you.
Pittsburgh tech writing jobs are -- like many other places in the US --
still few and far between. But they do exist and Pittsburgh has a solid
base of high tech companies.
I lived in Pittsburgh for the majority of my life, and have many clients
