Yes, this is the myth. Where it breaks down is that bullies often have real power, whether physical or organizational. Bullying is abuse of power, not just a psychological edge that you can magically overcome. Stand up to bullies, and they still have that power - and probably won't hesitate to retaliate. In fact, they may become even more threatening, because they feel threatened themselves.
