Holy Schnikees! Each book was $97.50 a pop new, and $70-something used!

I was a college professor for 15 years. A few little-known facts about college textbooks:

There are only two printers of college textbooks in America. (Well, that was 10 years ago, and I don't think much has changed since.) Most of the money for the text goes to the printer and publisher, not the author.

Any college textbook is deliberately removed from the market after three years. At this point, there are so many used copies on the market that the publisher no longer makes any money.

So, your $97.50 is paying for a book that will have a useful shelf life of 3 years. Still pretty expensive...
