A follow-up to my last post. An example of some documentation written
by someone with the wrong kind of expertise is manual for the version of
the Cubase music software that I use. (To be fair, I think what I use
is several versions out of date, and the documentation may have
improved.) The manual seemed to be written by someone who not only had
the software-anatomy orientation I spoke of earlier, but didn't seem to
know a lot about music. Ideally, someone like Rick Wakeman, Claus
Voohrman (sp?), or Philip Glass should have written the documentation.

(Of course, Philip Glass would have written minimalist documentation
<G>)
