The company that I left last month makes cost accounting software for
government contractors. I created print and online documentation for their
software, designed and maintained their new Web site, designed their
promotional mailers, and drafted their business plan. Toward the end, I
was also managing the programmers as they built a new module for the
application.

Now I work for a company that makes medical imaging software. I've only
just started, so I'm focusing on the most urgent task, i.e. documenting
everything for the FDA! But they also plan to assign me to the things I
was doing for my old company.

And by the way, I'm interested in *everyone's* subject matter, including
yours. My problem is, no matter how interesting I find the writing task to
be, I can never describe my job to Muggles (non-technical writers) in a
way that sounds interesting (even to me).
