Since the Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications, Second
Edition, (Microsoft Press, 1998) went out of print earlier this year, we
have received many queries about how to obtain a copy. Used copies were
available on some Web auction sites for unbelievable prices, but that is
no solution for most writers and editors.
I am happy to announce that the Manual of Style for Technical
Publications is now available as a free downloadable HTMLHelp file (.chm
format). This file contains the same content as the second print
edition. To download your copy, go to http://www.microsoft.com/mspress/education/ and follow the link at the
bottom of the page.
We are currently at work on a third print edition. I will make more
information about that available as we get closer to publication.
