At my previous job, I had to use a shareware application called RF Flow that was horrible to use (to be fair, we were using an older version than was available at that time) and even worse to revise. Having had a couple years of using Visio since then, I'll second John's suggestion to use that instead.

Since you are dealing with customers, don't scrimp. Go right to Visio. It
isn't that expensive and it is the most widespread and strongest application
for flowcharts. Anything less has less features and while you don't need
all the features it has, you'll find that you need at least some of them
that aren't in shareware charters.
