Well, you got my curiosity up, and here's what I found: according to the
Adobe Acrobat Help, p. 7, you are in luck!

You CAN compare two pdf documents. So, convert your Word file to pdf and use
the Acrobat tools, as described in the Help, to compare the two documents.
