We have the respect of the developers and the rest of engineering (project managers, QA) - we're in the same building with them, we work closely with them, we hound them and occasionally make them cookies. They appreciate us and occasionally get a review in on time.

The rest of the company has a hard time remembering we exist. :-) This may be an "out of sight out of mind" issue or something else; I hesitate to speculate.
