I think it was George Bernard Shaw who wrote that,under the laws of English pronounication, "fish" could be spelled "ghoti." You know:

- "gh" gives an "f" sound as in "tough"
- "o" gives an "i" sound as in "women"
- "ti" gives an "sh" sound as in "attention"
