Well, no easy answers but ...
If your budget is strict, then no.
Is quality an issue? Then yes.

Have your service provider(s) provide a proof to see what the results will be. If the DocuTech (also a laser print) is acceptable then go for it. If you see a much better quality is graphics from the "digital laser" then go for it. If having a particular stock is important, that could be a deciding factor in which way to go.
