Nice to know I've been pronouncing it correctly! I'm one of those who can
butcher a word's pronunciation - and my sister LOVES to call me on my
mispronunciations. But then, isn't that what siblings do, pick on each
other?

Not to reply with "RTFM" or anything on this list (of all places), but a
quick Google search found, among other hits, a well-reasoned explanation
with historical support, which is all I need to know...
The site also provides support for pronouncing Linux "lee-nooks" as well,
but the historical support is that tired old recording of Linus saying it,
and how authoritative a source is that? ;-)
