Re: Survey of Tech Writing Personality Types
Once you have read and understood the main types *from the website above*,
and decided which you are of each, you will have a four letter combination
that indicates your personality type, which will be one of:
ENTP ISFP ESFJ INTJ ENFJ ISTJ ESTP INFP ESFP INTP ENTJ ISFJ ESTJ INFJ ENFP
ISTP
What you're doing sounds interesting. However, I have serious doubts about the Brigg-Meyers test itself.
Most forms of the test group people into four either/or categories. This division seems skewed to me, both in its conception and in my personal experience of such tests.
In general, I score very close to the middle in all four scores. As a result, placing me in one pole or the other doesn't give a very accurate description of my personality.Possibly, I'm in a minority here, but my usual scoring makes me view the test as making very artificial and arbitrary distinctions.
In addition, the inevitable assumption in most psychological tests seems to be that personality is relatively constant. Yet in Brigg-Meyers type tests, which pole I fall into can vary from day to day. From that, I can only conclude that personality - or at least mine - is much more variable than such tests assume. Either that, or they don't measure personality so much as mood.
(Of course, another possibility is that I'm moody and unstable, if not downright perverse, but naturally I prefer to reject that conclusion).
