Since when we got there, they were part of the school, they weren't called
horse anythings.

However, training tracks doesn't sound right because they were used for
exercising the race horses. They'd bring them into the track and run them
daily. Wouldn't that make them horse runs?

What's the big deal in protecting the phrase...I have a track, I run horses
in them. Aren't they horse runs.

But were they called horse runs, or is that just how you're describing
them? Just curious. Speaking as someone who's kept horses for 25 years
(in Minnesota, where unless you have an indoor riding arena, you can't
ride for 5 months of the year), I'd describe those as indoor training
tracks.
