Depends....are you in banking, securities, insurance?

I used to work for Fidelity Investments. I learned brokerage lingo by:

- reading the Wall St. Journal

- obtaining and using the excellent financial terminology dictionary
published by the WSJ. Its exact name escapes me, but either your company
can provide one (Fidelity did) or you can one through the WSJ.

- read Money, Forbes, Fortune, etc.

- Hang out. I learned a lot by visiting our NY Order Room and just
watching. :-) I also had the opportunity to take a field trip with my
development team to the New York Stock Exchange. That was a pretty amazing
experience. We actually hung out on the floor in the equities room with a
floor broker and a specialist, and got to watch them do their jobs up
close and personal. (Fidelity has 2 seats on the NYSE, hence the special
dispensation to visit the floor. I think a lot has changed since 9/11).

HTH!

Amy
