Round and round we go, where the logic starts - nobody knows!

Well, certainly not here:

Apache has ONE product to deal with and it can leave compilation to
end users. MS
has to deal with thousands of products and millions of platforms.

Hence you're expectations that MS respond the same as a group that
monitors a
SINGLE product is ludacrious.

Except that Microsoft has a few more people working for them than
Apache.

And wasn't one of the advantages of paid-for software supposed to be
the better support, the higher motivation of the vendor to fix things? Must be true only for one-product companies, then, not Microsoft.

Who said that:

financial incentive to patch Linux machines quickly.

Oh, it was you, Andrew! I wonder if you could explain where the financial incentive to patch Apache bugs is that's missing for Linux?
