I have a question: is there a term for "sub-column"?
I am discussing a report that is formatted in three "major" columns. Each "major" column contains the same information (names and acccount numbers), which wraps from the bottom of "column 1" to the top of "column 2," and from the bottom of "column 2" to the top of "column 3."
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to word this?
This is what I have come up with:
"The name and account numbers are grouped in two columns and listed in alphabetical order by customer?s name. The list wraps from the bottom of the first two columns to the top of the third and fourth, and again from the bottom of columns three and four to the top of columns five and six."
BTW, I have no control over the presentation of this report - It's ugly, and I have to deal with it :)
