Erin asks:
>Tell me, is it "proper" technique to say "the Such-and-such
>application" every time one references the application by name?
>What do you think?
Depends. It's a style issue, plain and simple. If your company has a set
way of referring to its products, go with that convention and apply it
where necessary. If not, create your own convention and apply it.
Or just leave it alone. It isn't currently impeding the clarity of the
document, and you did say that your plan was "to mainly leave the content
as is, and just proofread for spelling, punctuation, any really hideous
grammatical issues, and to clean up the formatting."
Leaving it alone would be my vote, unless it's a change you can affect
quickly using the find-and-replace functionality of whatever tool you're
using. Good luck!

But before you read the rest of this sig line, please reset the default
font of your browser or e-mail program to a proportionately spaced serif
font - that's really the only way to get the sig line's true effect.
Preferably Georgia, but I *suppose* that you could use Times New Roman in
a pinch. But definitely not a monospaced font. And don't even *think*
about going with a sans serif font. I mean, really!
