Please don't take this the wrong way. I, too, often find myself considering the interests of management or the corporation in my evaluation of a situation; and I think there is value to maintaining a balanced view of conflicting interests.
But it just struck me, when reading your post--with yesterday having been Labor Day and all--that the metaphysical distance between the Pullman strike and the Major League Baseball near-strike is greater than the difference between a$5,000 pay cut and a $1,000,000 pay cut.
