Backatcha:
Without being a Ford engineer or ASE mechanic, I replaced the
carburetor, camshaft, timing chain, and intake manifold in my T-bird.
And, I could write about it, too.
Without being a doctor, I have resuscitated two people. And, I could
write about it, too.
Without being an electrical engineer or electrician, I have wired
circuits in a house. And, I could write about it too.
I have written about, performed, assisted, and observed maintenance and
repair procedures on complex machinery. Similarly, I could work with one
or more engineers to do and document the maintenance you describe.

Do you think you could say -- even with 20 SME's helping you -- write a
manual
on steam turbine maintenance? Large ones probably have about 60,000
parts --
and you have to write from engineering and design data, blueprints, and
field
reports? Can you do that? Can you figure out what the engineer in the
field
taking one apart for a 10 year overhaul has to do?
