Since everyone is suggesting that you get more
specific feedback from your manager, your next step is
to make that process easier for him.

I'd suggest creating some kind of review form that you
can provide with a document, one that lists specific
evaluation criteria within the context of the document
with room for comments. For example:

Document Organization
Imprecise Headings -- Heading name:
Unclear introduction -- Section:

Incorrect Technical Information
Web server -- Incorrect item:
Application server -- incorrect item:

You get the idea.

Documenting your efforts, others' feedback, and your
responses may be important should they fire you, and
could serve as evidence should you want to pursue
legal action.
