Probably. It is viewed by judges as a procedural requirement.

OT, perhaps.

When you are arrested, you are read your rights. This one of the warnings you
are given at the time. Suppose a police officer is arrested and not read his
rights? Is there a chance that the case will be kicked because he was not
given a warning he obviously understands and uses?
