TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
The prop documents ARE what we wrote. Or are you suggesting that during the
interview we start up Frame (or Word, or RH) and crank out a document right
there. Hmm...maybe RH with their 70 minute help system had something there.
Besides...I only show samples when the client asks "Can I see something
you've written?" Even though I have 30 pounds of samples I could show him,
do I say "Sorry, I'm a writer...let me write an installation manual while we
speak."
