I'm wary of this approach. At many companies, whoever you're asking may be
required by company policy to say no--even if your request is reasonable and the
proposed samples are harmless.
This is one of those situations where a lot of people adhere to the spirit of
the law, if not the letter. Choose samples that are innocuous. Change or obscure
identifying names and logos. Use excerpts instead of whole documents. Show
samples but don't leave them behind or let them out of your sight. Don't show
samples from that particular company if interviewing with a competitor. In
short, show the samples, but make sure your use of the samples does not harm the
company in any way.
