RE: FrameMaker used for Microsoft documentation?

My brother works there, and I've visited the Redmond campus several times
- it's awesome. Last time I asked, the doc team he dealt with wrote their
text in Word, and submitted it to somebody else (a "buildmaster" or some
similar title) who used custom software developed at Microsoft for
compiling and publishing documentation from a variety of sources.

Talking to him I learned that in addition to the products they sell, they
develop lots of software simply to allow their own company to function and
evolve.

At the risk of flameage, I'll say this: Y'all can bash them all you want,
but I'd take Microsoft documentation over the "online help" provided with
Adobe products any day. (Note: that's the *documentation* I'm talking
about. I like both *products* equally well.)
