Excellent point! Unless you work for a humongous company with a gigantic
documentation staff (like 50+ people, minimally) it really doesn't make
any sense to use a CMS separate from your development team. At minimum,
your developers' revision control system will give you check in/out and
lock capabilities, which is more than adequate for the immediate need.
Then, if you find the system's working but needs to expand, you can then
petition the PHBs for either customizations in your view of the system
or for a new system for documentation/writing (you can pool training,
marketing, sales, etc. into this as well, seeing as they'd benefit from
such a system too).
