Celine,

In reading the TECHWR-L digest today, I see that Mats Broberg and Rick
Henkel gave you what appear to be creative solutions to your request for
information on creating Acrobat popups. However, I lean to the low-tech
approach Dick Margulis suggested of using the Notes tool of Acrobat to
create a more visible signal that there is extra information. I have often
used those notes to give readers navigation tips.

On the more general subject of usability, Jared Spool, from User Interface
Engineering (UIE), delivered a great presentation last week to the
Usability SIG of the Silicon Valley STC. In his discussion of the research
that UIE has done on how people use websites, he mentioned that users tend
to keep their mouses on the scrollbar, so they miss content hidden under
mouseovers.
