That fits my experience as a Canadian who's lived in the UK and worked
with various Brits, Aussies, etc. North Americans might also "line up"
where Brits would "queue".

However, I've heard some Americans use "waiting on line" where I could
only say "in line". Does that depend on dialect or formality or what?
