I save my screen shots, etc., as bitmaps then use Insert > Picture > From
File to bring them into Word. (We are still on Word 97.)
I can resize the image, to some degree, in Word without losing too much
integrity. I also use tables to help control the size of graphic when I
insert it. In one of my documents, the total of screen shot files was 49.7
MB but the Word file size was 966k.
