The original poster's concern seemed, at rock bottom, to be less about
prejudice and more about our jobs being sent overseas, following
manufacturing, textiles, and increasingly programming.

It seems inevitable that a portion of TW jobs will go overseas, especially
to countries with impeccable, if British-based (kidding!), English language
skills, such as India.

There are, of course, ways to strengthen your career (but not job) security:

* Be very good at what you do.

* Specialize. The harder your expertise is to find, the better your chance
of keeping your services in demand.

* Specialize in specializing. If changing times render your expertise
obsolete, have another area of expertise in the wings. Keep up and keep
savvy.

* Do more than document. Implement documentation systems and processes. Be
active in product development and QA. Acquire more things to bring to the
interview table.

* Last but not least, develop your skill set with an eye to how your skills
could be applied in other professions, just in case worse comes to worst.

Andy
