Strong recommendation against RTF. RTF gives you all the disadvantages
of a binary format with all the disadvantages of text formats, the
latter because RTF is such an old standard that it can't handle many
newer formatting features, such as index tags. Stick with Word's
standard binary format or convert to a text format that can actually
handle a round-trip with all features, which basically means XML.
