For job listings in the UK and Ireland, check www.jobserve.com - it's
probably the most extensive online list of job posts for the IT industry and
you'll get a good idea of the market, salary ranges, and availability.
Alternatively, check out the web sites of recruiters who specialise in
technical author roles like http://www.kudos-jobs.com/ and search for jobs
in Ireland. Salaries depend on the role (junior or senior), the area/region
you're working in, and your level of experience. As for benefits, I don't
think they exist for contractors, but I could be mistaken.

I have a good friend in Dublin who has been struggling (understatement) to
find work for the past year or more. Things are pretty dire here at the
moment, so you may have a hard time finding a lot of job listings. Good
luck!

Cheers,
Lisa

Hello:
I'm wondering if any Irish tech writers could give me some solid
information. I've contacted headhunters in Ireland via email, but they never
reply. What I would like to know is:
1. How much does a tech writer make as a contractor per hour (in Euros)
2. How much does a tech writer make as a full-time employee (in Euros)
3. What sort of benefits are offered to tech writers in general both by
contracting firms and employers
4. What is the market like for tech writers in general (Cork, Dublin,
Belfast, etc.)
