Hi Emma, thanks for your response -
If I do that, will I lose internal links? This pdf has a nice linked index
and cross-referencing links between pages.

The reason for notepad was I didn't wan't anything altered or links removed
when I split it up. When Acrobat sees those pages deleted in the
splitting-up process I will lose internal links in the saving process,
won't I?
