In SW, porting means adapting your program to a different OS (MAC, Unix,
Windows, etc.), i.e., make it executable (?) on different platforms.
Therefore a Porting Guide is a guide that explains how to change your SW to
adapt it to another OS. This is necessary because some of the code may be OS
specific and should be replaced to either portable (non-OS specific) or
other-OS specific code.
